Never fails
This Thursday I have an ortho appointment (should be the last one before the bottom braces go on, eek!). Chances are she will add more springs or other torture devices I have yet to think of but she has been plotting since my first visit.
Now, contrary to my recent history I am not living in fear for Thursday - pleading with God (any God that will listen) to make this all end and magically cure me of my orthodontics. However I would like to note that my teeth, which have been relatively pain free after the first 2 weeks since the last visit have started hurting again. Seriously, everytime I am about to go in for an appointment they decide to hurt like crazy - like they know.
To make it even worse (because, c’mon that’s just how this blog rolls…) on Saturday I have a cleaning scheduled. I don’t think I’ve discussed this before but as an adult with braces it is suggested/strongly reccomended that you get a cleaning every 3-4 months rather than the usual 6. Seems great right? Except with braces the cleaning takes 3 times as long, is more than a little uncomfortable and you don’t even get that satisfaction of that “just cleaned by the dentist” feeling - it still feels like crummy braces. But even worse is that I will have a “tightening” 3 days prior to the cleaning meaning I will be sore and I don’t want to even imagine how awful the scraping of my sensitive teeth will be.
I’ll let you know.
